(KIKA) - MILANO - On December 7th, the official season of La Scala Theater opened in Milan, as a tradition on the Saint Ambrose's day, the feast day of Milan's patron saint. The premiere of the Wagner's Die Walkirie, directed by Daniel Barenboim and interpreted, among the others, by Simon O'Neill as Siegmund, John Tomlinson as Hunding and Nina Stemme as Brinnhilde, was broadcasted live on RAI5, the new RAI satellite channel, as well as in many other theaters in Italy and around the world, according to the time zone. As every year, the elite of Italian politics and entertainment business was attending the event, making it one of the top International artistic and cultural events.
